It’s NOT about spending 50 bucks on t-shirts and books either so you can “empathize” with the troops before going about your day again. Veterans have bonds that most will never undertand, it’s ok, we know that.

There are 22 suicides by Veterans DAILY. Let that sink in awhile too. Not just on Veteran’s Day or Armed Forces Day or Memorial Day.

Maybe they should set recruiting booths outside the polling stations, churches and bars on the day after the election. Maybe put pocket copies of The Constitution out next to the glossy recruiting pamphlets on those tables. It helps to know what we swear an oath to support and defend.
